how can i make my uploads findable
« on: 27 January 2012, 12:07:50 »
hi.  i think i can upload fine to my usenet server fine (astraweb),  however i when i use nzbindex.com, my posts don't show up.

the program i use to upload also generates a .nzb.  when i put that in my download client, i can download the files.

so question:
1. does this mean only people who use astraweb can download the files?
2. how can i get my uploads to show up in usenet search engines, like nzbindex.nl?

thank you for your time for my stupid questions lol.   im new to this but i would like to give back a little (i have a LOT of data)

1- No, by searching on an other site (binsearch.info, nzb.cc, yabsearch.com, nzbclub.com, mysterbin.com) with the filename or an other part of the header it's possible the post can be found if the newsgroup is indexed and if the usenet provider indexed the newsgroup.

If you have used a misspelled group it's possible some users can't find/download the files.
For example the group "a.b.test" isn't the same group as "alt.binaries.test".
Second example: "alt.binaries.boneless" isn't the same group as "alt.binaries.bonless".
