Repairing 7z file archive with Quickpar
« on: 08 May 2011, 14:09:56 »
Hello recently my 2TB harddrive crushed and all data were lost.

All the files are not important but there is 1 that is very important important to me.

A 9mb 7z archive file.

I tried to search all over the net to fix the archive and also read the guide http://www.binaries4all.com/quickpar/ about recovering archive files without success.

I will be happy if someone can assist me to recover my file it is my biggest work.

Thank you in advance,

Hope to have some replies.

If you did not make any recovery files before the crash there's no way to repair you archive.

The only thing you could try is to unpack keeping partial files (if possible with 7zip) hoping the data you need most is intact.

No, I mean the files packed in the archive. There might be some files in your archive that could be unpacked. I don't know whether 7zip does support this. Winrar does.

This way you might be able to recover some of the contents of the archive.
