Store your backup's on usenet for free.

Here is an idea. You could store your backup's (data, pictures, etc.) on usenet.
If you have an unlimited usenet account, then you have 'unlimited' free storage.
Besides the parchive files, you need to encrypt your (private) data first.

Well you are of course limited to the retention of your server, if you want to restore a backup. But if you're only interested in your latest backup(s), that does not have to be a problem.

It would work, but remember, there's no guarantee that it's save. However strong the encryption, eventually it can be broken if someone is really determent to. If it isn't to critical data though, it is a good suggestion  (I would not backup company or banking data!)
