anything to do when missing the .par index file?
« on: 16 November 2009, 14:03:31 »
I've found too often lately that all the files in the parity set are posted, vol000-001.par2, vol002-004.par2, etc, EXCEPT the .par index file
I can open one of these files, but it appears that ONLY that one file is being used to rebuild any missing parts.  Which can help, if only missing a small amount of data, but doesn't help if missing a larger amount.
Can this one .par file be 're-built' so that the quickpar program knows to use ALL of the parity set files?

thanks

Unless the poster has done something very weird there is no need for te small par2 file other than having a quick verification file without downloading other par2 files. All par2 volumes should be used if you open any of the volumes.
