two part jpg files in Thunderbird
« on: 02 September 2009, 05:53:51 »
If a jpg was posted in two parts where the first part downloads but the other part does not combine with the first, what application or process can I use to recombine the final jpg. What is weird is that there seems to be an image and attachment in the first post but just raw text in the second post. I use Attachment Extractor in Mozzila Thunderbird to extract the parts but it fails to complete the jpg. Using SBNews also fails. Did the poster just mess up? Or is there a way to fix the posts?

I did search the forum earlier but to avail.

I think you could get away with using a 'join' utility like, for example this one http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/.

Sound like the second part is not decoded. You can try to manually decode (probably Yenc) and join them.
